Every year, my friend Marcia hosts an event - Thanksgiving in the Desert. It takes place on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and always draws a group of interesting and diverse people.
Turkeys are prepared and roasted in a subterranean pit, lending a very special flavor. Whole potatoes are wrapped in aluminum foil and baked in a fire. Everyone brings something and we end up with a big feast. Read more
