Does your cookbook collection rival Amazon's? Is your TV usually tuned to The Food Network? Do you spend hours looking at recipes in cookbooks, on the web, and recipe databases to get inspired for your next dinner party? Do you read cooking magazines cover-to-cover? Do you have more equipment, appliances, utensils and arcane ingredients than your kitchen can hold? You're not alone. Join this group for monthly cooking events and enjoy the art of cooking while creating new friendships.
Each month we will have a theme (see below). Each member would select at least 1 dish (or more, if you wish) in keeping with the theme, prepare it at home , and then bring it to the Meet-up. Cooking at home means that even people with tiny kitchens can host. However, the Host has the prerogative to change the format to cooking as a group in the Host's home, if s/he has a large kitchen.
Examples of some possible themes:
-- National/ethnic cuisines (German, Cuban, Greek, Indian, etc.)
-- American regional cuisines (heartland, yankee, southern, Tex-Mex, etc)
-- Seasonal (autumn stews, spring salads, summer fruits, winter casseroles, etc)
The possibilities are limitless!!
